Mr. Herve Madeo made his career in TOTAL SA. He worked in design, operations and managing positions, such as General Manager in some of the South East Asia Countries. After that he took the position of Development and Operations Techniques Vice President, Field Operations. At the present moment he is a Deputy CEO and Vice President of Projects for the 1st phase of the Shtokman Development.

Prof. Guðni A. Jóhannesson, PhD. is the Director General of Orkustofnun, the National Energy Authority (NEA) of Iceland. which works under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism. The NEA has been authorized to grant licenses for prospecting, exploration and production of hydrocarbon on the Icelandic Continental Shelf, as well as the supervision of these licenses. The first round for exclusive licenses as been announced - closing for applications on May 15th, 2009
